As far back as I can remember, I always loved jewellery. Rings, necklaces, earrings, the whole lot! My first piece of jewellery was a 9 ct gold brooch with my name engraved on it which was given to me by my Grandmother. The next item was a gold bangle which I wore and never had it removed until it was too small to fit over my hand and had to be taken to the jewellers to be cut off! It was straight away replaced with another Gold bangle, and I vividly recall going swimming with a friend at the local lake when unbeknown to me it had fallen off in the water and my friend found it. The excitement of finding it soon diminished when she decided to throw it back to me and in my typical clumsy style I missed it. We then both spent the rest of the day bobbing back down into the murky water to try and, all the while being scolded by my unimpressed mother. Unfortunately, I never did find it, but I did get a replacement one which came with a very strong warning never to wear it in the water!
